Cherry Almond describes it for my nose and I don't care for it. I have tried it several times, finally gave it away
My problems with scents is, that I cannot picture "vanilla", "cherry", "Almond", "Marzipan" and so forth, but the minute I saw this thread and "Dr. Pepper" I was right on trail on what it smells like. To this day I don't even know what Lavender smells like, but I'm sure I like it since I've tried many products that supposedly contains/contained Lavender. Just to name an example. "It smells like brand XX" - THAT I can relate to!
So to get an unbiased opinion of what Cella smells like, I had my wife take a whiff. So to clear this up: officially Cella smells like play- dough.
Thanks to my good friend, @Omelmad , I received a sample of Cella today from him. What a wonderful smell!! Pretty strong. I'm eager to see how it shaves and how the scent acts when lathered up.
Unlike the original European-made cherries, those common red dyed cherries in a jar are flavored with 'cherry-flavoring' derived from almond extract.
My mind is blown. I'm almost fifty years old and never put the taste of maraschino cherries together with the almond extract flavor. That's twice this week I've been epiphed.
They are amazing. On their own, on ice cream, in soda, in vodka or in ever clear. These are one of the staples in my fridge.
Here's a short blog on maraschino...the two types : https://ambradambra.wordpress.com/2012/11/24/maraschino-a-tale-of-two-cherries/ A friend made a batch of the 'homemade style'—tart, slightly sour but strong tasting little burgundy-colored cherries that bore little resemblance to the bright red ones in the jar.
Just tried Cella for the first time and I was thinking and thinking of what it smelled like. Someone said Dr. Pepper which was close, but really, it smells like Cherry Coke! But the cherry flavor in Cherry Coke is based off those maraschino cherries, and so then it hit me that it's those types of cherries is exactly what this scent is for me. I don't know about the almond extract part, but if thats the unique smell/flavor I'll go with it. I only have roasted almonds at the fair, and those aren't anything like this, so that's all I got. Man, I want to eat this bowl of Cella. Oh, and I got a great shave with it, too.
I haven't tried the Cella in the small red tub, but the 1KG brick Cella is far and away one of the best soaps out there. PERIOD! Haven't shaved with this either, but I imagine it would be interesting
