That was pretty random. Yeah. I posted the addresses in that thread. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/gillette-manufacturing-plants.45788/
I received my New Forest brush a couple days ago, and was dreading what I would find. I've read reports of misshapen knots, massive shedding, lathe marks in the handles, and uneven handle bottoms. I don't know if it was because this was the final run, but the brush I received was perfect. Beautifully polished, perfectly formed knot, dense with "gel-like" tips. I never understood that reference until now. The handle has beautiful marbling, which wasn't apparent in the photos online. My only regret is that I didn't order more than one. (And by more than one, I mean I should have cleaned out his entire remaining stock).
I think his craftsmen were also interested in retirement so that also may have made a hand in the decision. They made great brushes while they lasted.
Bought a 2213, silvertip for the 'sale' price ontop - GBP 25 shipped - not from Peter though, his are all gone, this was a private sale.
One of those brushes is never enough. ...besides, I bought the 2001, not the 2213. I'm curious as to the differences between his 20 and 22mm knots, and his High Mountain and Silvertip knots.
