View attachment 72413 View attachment 72413 last years fishing trip in Alaska. This is the Kenai river and in the background is Denali in July. It was 80 degrees. The river photo was 3:00 am, that's me with one of the Sockeye's we caught that day
I love Alaska! Only been there one time, but we definitely have plans to go back. There's nothing like fresh wild caught salmon! Atlantic farmed isn't even close. It was great for you to get that shot of Denali in the background. The clouds cleared on our last day in the interior of the state. We were told that only about a third of people that visit Alaska get to see the mountain. I'll have to post one of my Denali pics, although pictures can't capture the grandeur of the mountain. Was this primarily a fishing trip, or did you do some other sight seeing while you were there?
We have a cabin close by the Kenai. Just spending time during the Salmon run. Denali is more beautiful than people realize
Great place for a cabin! Denali is spectacular. When the clouds cleared about 4:00 a.m. on our last day and I first saw the mountain, I was awestruck by it's size and magnificence. My retirement has been pushed back slightly. But when I can finally pull the trigger, Alaska will be high on our list of things to do soon.
That's beautiful country. I hope my wife does not see this. She would move to England in a heartbeat. Especially Ireland

Here's a few pictures I snapped today. The first is of the afternoon sky; the second of a rainbow that my girls spotted when eating dinner. For the second photo I took I realized was pretty neat with the cloud definition on one side of the tree and rainbow on the other. I'm going to be completely honest in saying it originally wasn't planned that way...but I went with it when developing my photo.
Here's a few shots from tonight's blue moon. I used a closed aperture and manual shutter speed to create the halo effect. I believe it adds to the majesty of the moon. Unfortunately I don't have a telephoto lens, so this is the best I can do with moon shots.
A picture of the bridge connecting the surrounding islands to the town I live in: I took a drive across the country a few years back and when crossing a small mountain I found this small pound that wanted its picture taken. I had some fun with this in post processing, and went a little nuts
Thanks, I believe I used Adobe Lightroom for these shots. Thanks, I have been in "rehab" to cope with my shaving related addictions
