Last night I had my monthly wine party. Usually it ends with cigars, given the recent arrival of new tobacco I opted for a pipe. One of my friends was intrigued so he asked to smoke a pipe too. I have a Savinelli I don't use so I set him up with a bowl. He thoroughly enjoyed it.
What was your reaction to Capstan? It's a totally different style than Navy. What were you drinking with it?
Hey everyone! Been gone for a while (sorry bout that, been super busy lately and haven't really even been able to smoke much), but I'm back! Enjoying some Comoys Cask #1 in my Dr. Grabow El Dorado. Ahhhhhhhhh, I've missed this. =)
Saturday morning pipe, couple slices of Superior Round Slices with a pinch of PS straight Virginia in the Briary billiard.
Saw this in a P&C email, looks interesting. Probably a little stronger than what I typically like. I am enjoying the Superior Round Slices which would be somewhat similar, sometimes alone, but more frquently with a pinch of straight Virginia. McClellan 5100 Red Cake seems to work best with it.
I was looking at the marketing email. Trying to hold off til the 20th, big discounts on Int'l Pipe Smokers Day.
I enjoyed it but I have to say the Navy Rolls is my favourite. One of my friends tried his first pipe that night and loved it, even preferring it cigarettes and cigars. Last night we started with an estate Beaujolais Nouvea and then spent the rest of the night on the Cotê de Nuit drinking various burgundies. It is becoming clear that Virginia tobacco is becoming a focus for me.
The last of the trio @Bama Samurai sent me. A nice pleasant smoke.... but I am still learning how to properly pack a bowl. * note my knock off IM Corona Old Boy
PS 52 in a Chacom Virgin Lovat A great morning to be sitting in the backyard watching the birds, smoking a pipe and drinking coffee. A bit cool at 35°F, but a clear blue sky and absolutely no wind. I did have to use my Yeti tumbler for the coffee, it cooled off too fast in a regular ceramic cup.
