Thanks guys! Y'all have been great for my shaving journey. I would probably be back at carts if not for this group!

Sounds like you are getting easy in your old age. The blade is not comfortable from the start and the alum burns not than a shave that produced two nicks? I know the Russians aren't afraid of the Germans now are they?

I am looking forward to your opinion of the Bolzano Superinox though.

February 2016 Focus -- Schick injectors

    Razor: Schick Injector G Type
    Blade: Chinese Schick Injector (4)
    Brush: Stirling Kong
    Soap: Tabac shave stick
Post: Cold water rinse, Witch Hazel, Fine Fresh Vetiver

Traveling today not too far from home and returning Saturday. Using my Tabac shave stick which, to me, has a little less smell than the tub of soap does. Which is not good because I am part of the crowd that likes Tabac's scent. The stick latheres just as well and is always slick!

The Schick gave me another near BBS shave with no problems. I did not take my no pressure note with me but I managed to remember. The Schick is an easy razor to use and would be good as a travel razor, at least until I get one of the Schick repeaters.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thank you! Carts didn't like me. I had razor burn and bumps all the time. I am sure there are some that would be kinder to me but I just have no desire to find out.

I found that I can't go ATG with any multi blade. Do you ATG with carts? If so, which?

    Arko
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and CC Bay Rum

I enjoyed an early Saturday morning two-pass shave before my Bride and I take off for fun day. WTG (face)/ATG (neck) on the first pass, followed by ATG on the second pass. All is good except for one small weeper on the jaw line due to operator error. I've used Arko three times this week, and it always makes for a nice, easy shave. I don't notice its drying effect because I use shea butter in my aftershave routine. I switched up my aftershaves this morning and finished with CC Bay Rum. I really enjoy this scent.

I hope everyone has a blessed and restful weekend.

    Gillette Old Type
    Gillette Silver Blue (1)
    Vulfix Super Badger (660)
    Mystic Waters Lime
    Georgetown G12 Scuttle
    Pinaud Clubman Original

    IMG_2572.jpg

Second shave with Mystic Waters Lime today. Loaded the Old Type with a Gillette Silver Blue.
2 full passes: Pass 1 XTG. Reduction here was only OK. Pass 2: ATG. Very good reduction. Did a tiny amount of touch up while the lather on my face lasted. A cool water rinse and a small amount of touch up brought home the baby. The Clubman was mild.

A nice BBS from the Old Type and GSB. I'd like to say the Mystic Waters gave the assist, but I was not impressed with my lather today. I had too much yesterday so I cut down on the time in the container from 40 seconds to 20. I still had to add quite a bit of water to build the lather, but it felt dry on the face, didn't provide much glide, and it threatened to dissipate in the bowl. In the end, there was hardly any lather left, but thankfully I didn't need it. On a positive note, my face and neck feel better today than yesterday, so I'm not so suspicious of the essential oils in this soap.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

    Simpsons/ Pre de Provence
WH / shea butter / Pre de Provence ASB

This was my 7th and final shave with this blade for this week. I will change my razor to the British Flare Tip Rocket and insert a new blade for the coming week. This was my first week with the 7 o'clock...and generally it was a nice blade, very sharp. I did expect it would smooth out a bit during the week, but that didn't seem to happen. It retained its sharpness, its edge. I am thinking I could continue using it this coming week for a few more shaves, but my habit has been to change my blade every Sunday. I am anxious to see how this blade performs in the Rocket. Overall though it didn't cut me up, it was very sharp and it seemed to pair well with the Heavy Tech. Enjoy your Saturday.

    Prep: Hot Shower. Noxzema
Razor: iKon Shavecraft Short Comb w/Bulldog handle
    Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
    Lather: Route 66-The Black Pearl
    Brush: Semogue 830
Post: Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate
    Aftershave: Royall Vetiver
Great shave!!! The iKon SC Short Comb is fantastic! It's definitely my favorite iKon razor. Smooth shave. The Black Pearl is fabulous!! Soft floral, spice, vetiver and slick as all can be. The blade glides across my face. The Semogue 830 is coming along nicely, but I like the Semogue 610 a tad bit more.
