For me? Yes. For you it might be perfect! 25mm is usually a good knot for me, independent of the hair type.
Actually cackling to myself to the point my wife told me to shut up or I'd wake the baby. Very nice, gentlemen.
Been 20 days since OP visited TSD. I'm assuming he's moved on. This thread received a typical dose of "Topic Drift". Some times folks stay on topic, but when the Original Poster abandons ship then this happens.
Nope, nope, nope the topic not dead!!!! A brush that is over an inch and a half is too big! If you need a brush that big go to Home Depot or Lowes. Only kidding of course. Though I've been temped to make one of these into a shaving brush.
I do have a lather shot of a 2" angled black nylon I've used for a couple of years, but it crashes when I try to upload an image. Anyways no I'm serious..been using mostly paint brushes for shaving since the late 90's. If you love a huge brush they're great for bowl lathering..not sure about face lathering though...
The boar PB's I've tried seem to lather very much like a shaving boar brush but are are generally softer with better flow through. Black nylon synthetic PB's lather at least as well as the Muhle black fiber. Purdy's Nylox seems to lather better than anything I've ever used in 20 years of brush lathering and I find it even softer than the Plisson...
The Swan model comes in 3 wide X 3-7/16 free loft or 4 X 3-15/16 inches, and they are 7/8 inches thick. That would translate to a Fan knot of 22+mm. Constructed for latex paint using DuPont Nylon they should offer a good service life. Not too shabby!
