Has anybody even heard of these blades? I've found packs of a hundred for sale on the bay, but I can't find out anything about them... Any enlightenment gratefully received :ashamed001
They're a common blade. You can find out more by using the "search" function on this boad and by checking the review area. At their best, I found them to be sharp and smooth- on par with high quality blades. But I also found a few bum blades, and noticed some deviations in quality from blade to blade. So one blade would be wonderful, the next would be noticably duller, and the next might be super sharp but very rough, and so on. Buy a pack and try them yourself before you pull the trigger on one of those hundred blade lots.
I have some Gillette 7o'Clock Super Platinum's that come in a black and silver pack, buy 5+1 free. Are these the ones you ask about? If so I found them to start off OK and get much better day 2. There is currently a group buy going on here for them.
The link included below has reviews for many blades (including 7AM). However.. I have heard very few good things about them other than what is in this review... http://www.shavemyface.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29705
Thanks for the views. I'm going to hold off BTW... I did search before posting "7 A.M." but got nada. Hey ho!
I apologize for being a jerk. Did we answer your question, though? The 7am brand can be a bit confusing because people often get it mixed up with the 7 o'clock line of blades. The 7 o' clock brand comes in a three or four different versions as well, some of which are sold in bulk on ebay- so it can get really confusing.
No apology necessary; like as not I boobied somewhere! Question completely answered: I'm not buying100 hit 'n' miss blades! I have to say, it's getting hard to find blades and soaps and stuff in the UK outside the specialist shops in London I'm afraid the country's going to the dogs. Bah!
Perhaps I got a bum blade but my experience was pretty poor. It started promising -- sharp and smooth -- but the thing got dull so quickly that by the ATG pass it was tugging hairs.
I like these blades and have had really nice shaves from them. Some a little better than others but, for me, always a DFS from them. As in all things shavings YMMV
