@oscar11 threw out his normal beautiful razor and I happened to have a sister razor to join him... wonderful look and shave! The Wacker Chevalier: Now I just need him to “misplace” one of his gorgeous brushes . Enjoy your shave! Tom.
This have was inspired by: @TestDepth cool pipe razor. This is the closest I have, G. Wosteholm with cool scales. It is lack the still perfect engraving and cool patina but has a it's own flavor. @Drygulch who inspired me to finish off as much soaps and creams as possible this year.
inspired by Perry @PLAla : The Stirling Exchange I decided to break out the Stirling Iced Pineapple! SOTD March 21st Gem G-Bar Gem PTFE (5) Stirling Iced Pineapple Soap and AS Hardright Anchorset (24mm, Frigate class) Stirling Glacial unscented ASB
Those scales on your Wosty are very cool. I didn't know I was inspiring anyone, I just like the look of the "Pipe Razors", and "Bow Razors". Most of my razors start out looking really really bad, so I get them for a few dollars, then I spend too much time trying to restore them, as best as I am able. So, most of mine have patina. I like patina on old razors, it shows character. I also have a soft spot for stray dogs. The two dogs I have now, were stray puppies I scooped off the street. Best dogs ever.
Might have been Gary @brit that dropped a subliminal suggestion in the back of my mind. Shuffling through the cabinet, sniffed the Eton College, and it was just what I was looking for. Jason @jtspartan has been wielding his NEW short comb for a couple shaves. I don't have one of them, but seeing Bob @Bobcat with his shiny long comb was the kick to get mine off the rack. Used my Suribachi bowl that I received in a trade with Jack @Sparrow. I didn't expect him to send me a brush from the hunk of cypress I sent his way, but there it is. Like the fat end of a giant cashew with it's asymmetric curve that fits the hand quite well. Finished of with a complimentary scented post care product from Tom's @twhite lab - a blend of ethyl alcohol, witch hazel, vitamin E, and Bound & Shagged scent oil from a shop in Burbank California. The supplier doesn't make aftershave, but Tom does! It's described as leather, amber, musk and black pepper. To me it smells like fresh laundered sheets. Thank you folks for the inspired shave!
March 22nd Big Omega boar inspired by @Drygulch Sandalwood soap inspired by @Screwtape Vintage photo (failed!) inspired by @RyX Razor provided by @Linuxguile, blades by @Keithmax
Not at all Jason! I'm guessing you backed the saturation down. My vintage effect may be a combination of an 8MP cellphone camera snap, poor lighting, edited on the phone with Snapseed app, emailed to my laptop, edited a little more with a 2001 version of Paint Shop Pro and reduced to 1/3 size and saved to a GIF format. Takes a lot of work to make my photos grainy and less detailed! Edit; that [s/ /s] command should have drawn a strike through the word in between. I failed!
Thank you Andrew! Your instructions copy/pasted to my laptop. That's as close to a Sarcasm Font As is available.
I was inspired by a thread started by @Bobcat that dealt with Stirling Sandpiper. Wonderful scent! I went full tilt with Sandpiper today for a magnificent shave.
Inspired by @Dansco and his BEAUTIFUL F. Herder 77, I had to join him in shaving bliss! Razor: F Herder 77 Brush: Corvette (C3) shift knob synthetic Soap: Proraso Red A/S: Country Club 1837 What a great razor!!! Congrats on your shave @Dansco and thanks for the inspiration! Tom.
Wow thanks Tom. First time I've been mentioned in here! This is a fun thread The amount of times I'd have tagged you in here, if not for the fact I don't have your arsenal of gorgeous hardware. At the moment you're inspiring daily ebay searches... P.s. those scales are awesome. Are they originals??
Thank you & I really enjoy this thread. As far as the scales, they are a home grown recipe . A little spalted maple mixed with a 2 part resin. Enjoy that Herder!
