Some forums: Sam's bar from CHEERS. Abide by the rules, which are grounded in common sense and simple courtesy, and enjoy yourself. Converse with anyone on just about anything in an amiable, relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Other forums: ROADHOUSE before Patrick Swayze showed up. Can get out of hand with various factions that pick fights, and the bouncers are either ineffective or just itching to toss people out the door. Sometimes you don't even know what you're offense was but out you go. Enjoyment is in spite of the established structure, not because of it. The more genteel souls inevitably migrate across the street to Sam's.
I looked at joining a couple of other forums a few months back. Decided against it because of the camaraderie here at TSD. Great folks in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
I altered my op after you quoted it, to make the point more generalized (don't want to needlessly stir anything up).
I think I'll stick around here. I can fight anywhere, but I'm here for the shaves. Why go looking for acido.
Same here. I come here to share in the laughter, camaraderie, funny stories and, ah... Oh yeah, shaving knowledge!
I only frequent two forums, this being one of them. The other has the same feel, in my opinion. Folks treat each other well. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
I can't say how it was past about a year ago. All I know is it a great place to enjoy. There are things I like about both sites and great people in both. I wouldn't want to stop being a part of either. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
I am here as I am on a few other forums to exchange information and learn. I have been on a few that were more like a TV soap opera or bad prep-school movie than a gentlemanly exchange of ideas. I guess I just aged out of that environment. But then I don't go to bars to get drunk anymore. Seems there was always someone at those bars looking to fight and I was one of the big guys so... Anyway. Happy to be here. Happy to have you guys have me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
