Anyone else use just a small variety of shaving products?

I came to The Shave Den hating the shaving products I used. Then learned a lot, tried a variety of products and now I use only two razors, two blade brand, three brushes and two soaps.
Anyone else here settle on just a minimum number of shaving products, after trying many?

I have four razors, and a small selection of soaps. I have a small number of aftershaves. My only "sins" are colognes and eau dear toilettes.

No, variety is one of the things i like about not buying off the drug store shelf.
I find it completely unrealistic for a big cosmetics company to offer onlytwo or three options for millions of shaving customers.

While I have 50 razors, I only have 3 soaps and 4 brushes. Does that count?

Although I am on the new side and still enjoying discovering all the shiny new things, I have noticed that I am starting to gravitate more and more towards a smaller concentration of my supply. I reach for certain razors more often, to the point that I am considering selling some. I am happy with my 3 brushes. And while I have way too many soaps, there are certain ones I am reaching for more often. I like variety too much to become a true minimalist by choice, but I also like what I have enough that I am becoming quite content with focusing on the few that I really like. The thrill of the hunt is still there, but not the inclination to hoard.

Compared to what's available, my collection is quite modest. I enjoy the variety that modern wet shaving allows. The only problem I have, if you can even call it a problem, is deciding what to use.

Before joining this forum a little over a year ago I only had several DE razors, one blade type, one or two aftershaves, and now have more of everything, but now only use two razors, and two aftershaves and one blade type. I like alternating brushes and soaps and creams. Still pretty minimalistic compared to many here, but more expansive than those in bygone years.

When I started in 2010, I went on a huge buying spree. I have a huge pile of all things shaving related. However, a couple years ago, I kicked most everything out of the den, packed it up and put it in a closet. I am now pretty much a one razor, one brush, and maybe five brands of blades type of guy.

Most of my soaps were turned into frankensoap, and most of my creams received the same treatment.

The only real variety I have left that I have a rotation of are aftershaves. I can't really call the afteshaves a rotation though; I go with whatever I feel at the moment. I have about 25 or 30 bottles on the shelf.

That's one heck of a rotation Herm. Why don't ya buy two more and you've got one for each week of the year! :D

5 razors, 14 brands of blades, 8 brushes, 30 plus or minus soaps, 8 aftershaves, 4 after shave balms, one bowl. I only use one of each at a time though.:) I need the variety. I could live with what I have for razors and brushes, but the soaps and after shaves is where I really like the variety.

While I have a fair amount of kit, I only use two razors, two brushes, and one aftershave. With soaps and blades I am just trying to work my way through the stockpile and keep a couple in rotation until I use them up and then move on to the next one. This gives me enough variety to keep me happy.

Having spent enough money on all aspects of this hobby I could see myself getting down to 4 razors, 4 brushes, maybe 10 soaps and all the aftershaves I already own.

Hadnt thought of that. I just sold off a half a dozen. And I need to thin the herd a bit more. But, with the exception of just a few I use them all.

In the beginning AD "HIT ME HARD"!! I have many, many DE, SE ,Injectors and even Straight razors now at least a 100, probably 2000 blades, 21 different razor blade brands, a bunch of soaps & creams, 18 after shaves and maybe 7 brushes.

Now a days other than rotating in one of my original soaps for a bit or trying a new blade or aftershave I hear really good things about, I basically stick to 2 DE razors(Stahley head on a Weber Bulldog handle and Gillette "NEW" OC), 3 blade brands (Viking Sword, Astra SP, Polsilver Super Iridium), one soap (Arko), one brush(bestshave #6 horse hair), and several aftershaves(Old Spice, Barbasol, Gillete CoolWave, Clubman original and VI Bay Rum). I have to say I'm quite content and have NEVER gotten better shaves...:happy088:

One brush, one mug, one soap, one razor and one aftershave at home and a similar toolkit at the cabin. Found stuff that works well and don't see any reason to expand.

Me. I've been through a number of products over the years, but I tend to stick with what works best. I just replaced a razor I used exclusively for six years with a new razor, which I use every day. I have one main soap I use, but I will occasionally use another -- I think I have four soaps total right now. Same with brushes. I used the same brush for over seven years, but I'm currently experimenting with synthetic brushes based on positive remarks from folks on this forum.
