April 23rd Shave #11 Late morning shave today. Skipped yesterday, the misses liked the stubble look. She's the Queen of the castle, I aim to please.... Anyway, picked up a couple things at a local Family Dollar store. T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel & Family Dollar de blades. Yes, I know but they were 2 packs of 5 each for a $1! And to be honest, I was surprised at the feel and quality of the shave these blades gave. Very, very nice........ Have a great day and shave Gents. Thanks. The Parker Variant has been nothing short of excellent. I own both versions, silver & black and I have been lucky in that in both of them I have no issues with fit, finish and performance. Very smooth and efficient razor. I've paired it with quite a few blades, no issues whatsoever on shave quality. As you can see, in this shave I used a Family Dollar blade (Dorco?) and it was a great shave. Started on 1 and finished on 5, 3 pass WTG,XTG,ATG and 1 weeper. Great weight and balance, maybe a little more knurling on the handle, but that's nitpicking. I'd recommend it with no reservations. Have you tried one?
Thanks for the quick review. I have not tried it. I am mostly a vintage guy, but the variant has caught my eye. It is a good looking razor. Who knows?

April 25th Shave #12 Excellent early morning shave. Living on the edge, so I used the Family Dollar blade for this shave again, and it was actually smoother. This blade has been quite a surprise. Bigelow Shave Cream Bunny B-400 Boar PA Bakelite Slant Wilkinson Sword CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayer's Lemon WH Pinaud Clubman The C.O. Bigelow Shave Cream face-lathered well with my Bunny B-400 Boar brush. I did two passes the PA Bakelite Slant razor and Wilkinson Sword blade, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. Well, last week's shaves with the Hoffritz OC and the Swede blade were very, very good: lasted the whole seven days. This week, I'll be using: The Merkur Slant coupled with a Lord Platinum Class blade. Same Plisson brush whipping up a storm of lather in the suribachi.
I use those blades more then any DE blade. They are Dorco's apparently. The SE blades suck,but the DE gives as good of shaves as anything else. Do not let anyone talk down to you about them. Lol.
