well, the pain is up down the whole arm, not just the elbow. But as I say, it comes and goes. Tylenol helps.
Gas welding equipment somehow always available, yet the number of improvised hammers was confusing. "I ain't getting in no plane... "
Who needs some Arko? I have way too much and should probably use some of it, but I am not into spending a month with it right now. Also I don't own any adjustable razors either... Like most other months, I will rotate between a couple Techs, two brushes and a handful of soaps and creams until I use them up. I'm not very exciting any more, but I do get fantastic 12+ hour shaves with the Tech after using daily for the last few months.
The primary focus for April will be again on technique, getting the angle right, not too much pressure, etc.... I will also be limiting my daily shaves to two passes and go for the clean shaven appearance, at least until my face can tolerate it. The first week starting tomorrow will be with a Feather Popular from @Bama Samurai, and I will use it until probably next Saturday. After that I will be switching things up, and using a Schick Eversharp Injector E (I think) from Canada, eh. My birthday is in May, and I want to get into straights for it so I'm going to use the injector to help. The brush on the road will be the Simpson Case Best Badger, but when I get home it will probably be my Maggard's 24mm synthetic. For soaps, I am going to try and go a week with each soap, starting tomorrow with Dr. Jon's Savannah Sunrise. So we will see how April goes.
Awesome April 2017 (that means Arko and Veg) 30 Voskhod edges 1 Parker Stainless SRX 1 Bottle of Liquid Hero And Turkey's Gift to Traditional Shavers Everywhere! Arko
I keep wanting to do one of these 30 day focus exercises. However, each day when I look at all these wonderful soaps I now have - it is too hard to stay with just one.
Choose something else to focus on, nobody is that strict around here. The rule is definitely good to help someone learn, as it eliminates variables, but a focus is much more flexible. Jump in and join the fun.
Well here is my plan for Arko Adjustable April! I'll use Arko, of course, and then rotate through my adjustables. As seen below, the Slim on the left, Fatboy on the right and Soviet Consul in the middle. Blades will be based on the Grand Blade Trial schedule when using the Slim and Fatboy. When using the Consul it will always be a Russian blade. Should be a fun month! Oh, I may slip in a shave or two with my Schick Injector adjustable somewhere in there as well!
Well, I started off a day early. The Soap: Arko The Brush: Maggards Plissoft 24mm The Razor: Feather Pain Stick The Headshave Razor: Gillette Aristocrat w/Lord blade The Aftercare: RazoRock Puros If you want to focus, there's no better guarantor than the Feather Kamisori Pain Stick. I am just getting over the flu and my sense of smell is very dull, so I thought it was a perfect day for Arko. Arko did its thing, and I had only one very tiny nick by the ear from the pain stick, just to keep my honest. It barely bled and stopped on its own. The Aristocrat is now my favorite head shaver. A great shave was had. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Kicking off April with Arko. Not in focus but I wanted to support the month's theme: Arko DOC Evolution with Rapira Swedish Steel blade Rooney brush
Aha! A fun thing to do... A technique Focus on a difficult or new razor, with the defined goal of near perfect easy shave in 30 Days. The Rule is for real newbies who are still learning multiple fundamental skills. You've been at it enough that you know if your lather is OK or not. A focus on a single razor might earn you a new fave in the arsenal. Change blade brand every week for fun too.
