Barbus shaving cream--if you like the scent, you'll love this cream!

This is a cream with a scent that is like this--you either like, or you don't. I personally like the scent, and the lather is very creamy, stable and rich. It's a pretty moisturizing cream, and it has glycerine in it, so the razor glides easily for a good, smooth shave. This cream is made in Slovakia, and sells exclusively there, as well as the Czech Republic. www.demiclen.sk can probably give more information.

On a whim, I just picked up the tub version of barbus from shoeboxshaveshop.com and used it for the first time this morning. Just opening the tub (plastic w/ screw top), one immediately notices a medium strength fresh/clean/lavender-ish scent which is very pleasant. The scent dies down substantially once the soap is lathered and really isn't noticeable on the face. The soap itself is on the firm end of the soft soap spectrum and is white in color.

I puck lathered and loaded my brush as usual. This stuff is a little on the thirsty side, but that might be just from first use. Initially, I didn't get much lather going, but once I started to face lather, OMG... thick slippery lather explosion! Enough for three passes (and then some) without having to re-load.

Barbus is hardly known here, and that's a good thing... because then, there's more for me. :D But, seriously, this seems to be a great soap (based on one use so far) and well worth the aprox. $10 price for 150g (5.3 oz) from shoebox. If you're over in Czech Rep. or Slovakia, it seems to go for about $3 (under 3 euro on line from there, plus shipping, etc.)

Almost a week of use at this point, and I LOVE :love029: this soap. It is even more lathery than Arko stick (and smells much better too).
