I really like Superior 70 also. The scent is light and it doesn't linger very long. It can be found quite cheap if you have a Latin grocery store nearby and is the best choice if you want minimal ingredients because its basically just alcohol and distilled bay rum. Captain's Choice has a nice scent also.
I like Superior 70 too, but I am almost out of it and my local Walgreens won't get it for me any more. As I use up my current BR supply, I may try Captains Choice next due to its strong reviews here.
I really like the scent of Captain's choice, and that it has witch hazel in it. I do wish the scent lasted longer.
Hmmm...got to cast my votes for ogalalla lime and peppercorns, donny boone farms bay rum, dominica lime bayrum, W.M. neumann's lime and rum (not quite bay rum, but still good and darn close), aubrey organics spice island (bay rum and then some).
I really like Master Bay Rum, it is alcohol based but doesn't burn much at all. It doesn't list Glycerine, but it does a really nice job of moisturizing for me. It's fairly subdued and fades nicely. I Captain's Choice as well; however, it is fairly heavy on the Cinnamon and I feel that it overpowers with that a little. On the up side, it makes your face feel terrific. If your going for basic all natural ingredients, this is a good choice.
I've seen mixed reviews on Master's-think I need to smell it first. The fact that it is "classic barbershop"looks good to me.
Masters is more of a straight up bay oil type scent without the clove or spice. it is quite nice but doesn't last very long so its good to use if in a professional environment.
There's a Sally's near me, which presumably would have it. Free shipping, at least-I don't have to pay my car, lol.
Bay Rhum Porn. My nearly full bottle of Royall I brought back from Nassau in 1977. This is the bay rum all others try to be. Not to be confused with the new Royall made in Bermuda, Royall was originally made in the Bahamas. Hand blown bottle with pewter stopper and bay leaf in the bottle. Simply good stuff. Gaze in awe and wonder:
Like @gssixgun, Ive got a bunch of them and must say they are all different, some subtly and some rather hard to call Bay Rum (Col Conk). I'd find it hard to choose just one Bay Rum and call it a favorite because of the differences. Royall Bay Rhum from Royall Lyme Bremuda is what I'd consider a true bay rum though. As for a favorite, I alway reach for Ogallala bay rum, limes and peppercorns.....the scent is different and intoxicating.
Guess I'm the lone wolf with Bigelow. Aftershave balm is sometimes hard to get. I use the cologne, too.
