Still trying soaps - an addiction unto itself. So far Captain's Choice, Stirling, Taylor of Old Bond Street, and Barrister & Mann have proven to be great performers - both in available scents and great lather production. But then, as I did this morning, I keep going back to Cella.
I expect to purchase a Stirling soap before long, as part of a package with the A.S. of the same fragrance. Supposedly there's a Barrister&Mann near me, in Boston, but I'sd like to know just where. The shipping wouldn't cost much, I'd presume.
the UK has always thought itself separate from Europe. Just looking at brit soaps one has choices that are like Rolls-Royce's standared inquiry to horsepower of 'adequate'.
Im a big fan of Mama Bear, Muhle, Tabac and Haslinger. Theres lots of great soaps out there. You can get really go wrong with any of them. Its all about what scent you like.
I have one, too, but I only use it occasionally. A collection left overs and samples that I wasn't keen on.
There are no "best" soaps; only soap preferences. My preference is Mr. Fine's line of soaps. They are amazing.
Mine is mostly bits of sample, but there are a couple finished off pucks. Mine is only stuff I liked tho. I wouldn't save bits of stuff I didn't like.
I find that because of the mix every shave is slightly different and some days quite an enjoyable blend. It started as a little experiment...
You mention you have very sensitive skin. I recommend working with an unscented soap first, to ensure the performance is what you're looking for. Most of the top artisan soaps offer an unscented soap. Stirling (my favorite) has "Naked and Smooth," a truly exceptional soap.
