    Thorsten,

I believe you're looking for a B-1. I'm pretty sure there were Black Beauties then.

Mine is a 1941 Ranger Tech. Much too mild for me to use, but I'll keep it just the same.

My recently purchased 1949 Super Speed. It is now being replated by Chris Evatt - Razorplate.com.

I have two birth year razors I enjoy shaving with: my 1947 Super Speed and my 1947 Aristocrat. No date codes for these guys.

Is the aristocrat a more refined razor with the shave it gives?

The aristocrats tend to be just gold plated. This one has the same head as the 47 SS. They both shave about the same: really good. The handles are different, and they have a different finish. My aristocrat has some wear on it. I think I will leave it alone though. It still shines up pretty well, and the shave is the main thing.

I apologize for the terrible quality. Edit - A plus is that it was my Gramps.
