Hi fellas, have any of you come across any information about a British made Star razor - 'The Embassy Set'. I have been trawling the internet but I've not found anything at all. I've just bought it, but I've never seen one before. From the price, hand written on the box, it cost seven shillings. I'm absolutely stuck. Thank you.

Are you looking to buy one or are you looking for information on one you own?

Hi Jorge, I've amended the original post. Thanks. I bought it very recently, actually it arrived this evening. I'm trying to find more information so I can chat about it when I shave with it, on a video.

I have a US made Star razor that looks identical to that one. It's a nice shaver, a little more aggressive than a Tech but still easy to use. Like it.

Do you know what year it is or if yours has a name, please?

No name on it other than Star. As for the date, I would have to guess at late 1950's.

Very nice and often overlooked shaver.

I guessed the same, late 1950's. Thanks.

I haven't used one, but from what I remember seeing is that the shave is on par with a tech.

That one is in nice shape. Congrats.

By now you have probably figured out that this is pretty much a British Star Model 100, with a better than normal finish and a case. I've been trying to dig up more info on these Star 100s. But the gist is that they were produced from that late 40s to 60s, maybe later. Also to note since Star was part of ASR there are also later, nearly identical versions of the Model 100 made in Britain under the Personna and PAL branding.

As others have said this is a mild Razor, just a notch up from the Tech. But a great shaver non the less... Would love to here how it has worked out for you.

The last time I shaved with it was quite a little while ago. It was, as you suggested, a step up from my fat handled tech; I don't have another tech. The Star suited me very nicely and it is a very nice razor indeed, it looks very similar to a Gillette set with a nearly identical case.
