In the beginning was just a cylinder piece of Bronze but later with a lot of work became a spare razor handle for my DE safety razors. you can see the whole procedure with other photos here: http://ksyrisma-shaving.blogspot.com/2011/11/de-safety-razors_17.html Thank you for watching my fellow shavers !
That is a thingy of beauty, correct me if I am wrong but it looks like it would fit a ball end gillette among other razors no?
I am glad you like it my fellow shavers. The front knob is Gillette's copy but heavier, the back is an inspiration of mine, you can see it in my other handles too It is glued with epoxy, has no bolts inside Yes it is 5mm,you can mount a Gillette head on it.
Is that front off of an open comb? I had an old type that came apart like that. Also... explain your magic, caveman no understand how stick become fancy handle.
Thank you very much. This handle suits almost in any DE head with screw in 5mm x 0.8 I can not explain everything because i can not write english very good in technical terms In the link you will found some step by step photos,i do that for my handles and my brushes In each modification i put some photos to help people understand but i can not put all of them because i need a whole forum for that. The frond knob is a copy from Gillette, the bottom is an inspiration of me and you can see it in my other handles too The middle part has some circles to help holding (i copy that idea from my Goodfella DE) and a carving that a metal-turner friend of me did it with a special tool I use epoxy glues for metals (maritime use certified) and some buffing wheels for shining. I am not a magician or an employee in Bob'srazorworks-ikon,i am just an hobbyist traditional shaver.
I don't know why I'm still amazed at some of the stuff my fellow Denmates pull off in the name of making shaving stuff even cooler. You did well sir, very nice.
Fantastic machining, the cross hatching must be hard, I can't even think of how you would get them so uniform and straight on the cylinder.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your comments I will put a photo of the tool that has been used for carving.
