For those of you who are friends of @Carbide Mike he is in the hospital ICU unconscious, and has been for over a month. I was asked to relay the following information to the shaving forum. "Michael's condition has not changed. He is on a ventilator and it is upsettingly showing no signs of improvement. The doctors believe he is in there somewhere yet unable to communicate. It is something like being unconscious. They are preparing to try a new medicine and has lost much weight as expected from IV feeding...Please pray for him as prayer is stronger than any medicine." Please keep Mike in your prayers. Edit: for those of you who don't know his background, he was bitten by a bug while caving in South America, and contracted a rare fungal disease that infected his nervous system. It's very difficult to treat, as this fungus is one of the few that can penetrate the blood brain barrier. Edit 2: For those of you reading this for the first time: After three months of being unable to respond, he is conscious, talking and using a walker. His treatment is ongoing, with daily monitoring. As the medication kills the infection, toxins from the dead fungus build up, causing his brain to swell. As far as I know, he making a full recovery, and will be completely cured at the end of this treatment.

Wow, very unexpected news. I knew he has had health problems in the past, but not to this extent. My prayers will be headed his way.
Why not get his most favorite shaving brush and wave it under his nose slowly, I'm sure he can smell his most favorite shaving brush this should be able to wake him up slowly, sometime when your unconscious for too long the brain can't find it's way home to wake up. I fully understand is a terrible situation when a person unconscious for too long and it very sad, anyway I'll give my strongest prayers to Mike and his family
