Wow, in San Jose. I didn't realize there were shaving soap makers in the South Bay. Their Etsy store doesn't have any soaps for sale. Who sells them?

Cool! Looking forward to hearing what you find.

I bought it from the Etsy page, I wonder if they stopped because of lack of interest. I was surprised when I saw that they were in San Jose as well.

Have you tried Jeeves of Hudson street or Stubble Trouble? Both are great!

Not an artisan soap but since I tried Tabac 6 or 8 months ago that’s pretty much all I use now. All my other soaps and creams have been collecting dust.

@SharptoothC I can see you haven't got Wholly Kaw tallow in donkey milk version and you should get the King of Oud.

The scent profile of King of Oud are:-

    Oud
    Bergamot
    Rose
    Pink Peppercorn
    Vetiver
    Patchouli
    Lemon
    Clary Sage
    Aldehydes
    Angelica
    Rosewood
    Galbanum
    Sandalwood
    Amber

    Description:
Oud – Originating from Southeast Asia and South Asia, Oud is rare and widely sought after in traditional perfumes. Natural Oud is said to cost more than its weight in gold. They used blend of essential oils, aroma chemicals and resins to create an interpretation of Oud. King of Oud combines the freshness of Bergamot and scents of Rose and Pink Pepper sitting on a bed of Oud, Patchouli and Vetiver for a fragrance that is both fresh and richly aromatic.

And how much of the puck have you used in that time ? Tabac lasts forever.

Just a modest depression in the middle. It will likely last me a couple years.

I hope so...I’m in the KC area where the maker resides. Met him at a local meet up. Great soap!!!

I'm part of a Grooming Dept tallow soap passaround. I've only used it twice, but it certainly lathers as well as my other top-notch soaps, including L&L, Wholly Kaw donkey milk, B&M glissant or reserve, MdC, Nuavia, Tabac, etc.

Highly recommend Grooming Dept. One of the best soap bases I have tried (out of over 200).

A few other artisans to consider:

    Wholly Kaw
    Ballenclaugh
    Square One Soapworks (formerly Gustafsons)
    Crown & Crane
Tiki (I prefer the vegan formula)
    Phoenix & Beau

Rose of Bulgaria cream is amazing. The rose scent is the most enjoyable rose scent I have ever tried. It is not a really heavy scent, but it is extremely nice.

The performance is good, but it is not great. I would put it on par with TOBS.

The price runs about $4-$5 / tube (75 ML)

I get my rose fix from Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations "Somali Rose". Such a great scent.

My wife got me Grooming Dept and Wholly Kaw for Christmas, and the kids got me two new Stirling scents.
I'm set for a while and now on a no-buy for the remainder of the year.

That is so great -how do you do that? My family doesn’t buy me any shave stuff. If I could go on a “no buy” sabbatical, confident in knowing a supply of such high quality products would be steadily coming my way, I could probably do “no buy”for years at a time!!!
