Just picked this up today because it was free with a rebate. Put it on my face and it seemed slick enough
to shave with. Started shaving and it dried out way too fast and trying to keep it wet was a chore. I'll
probably add it to some soap or cream to see if it helps. Anyone else have suggestions on how to use this stuff?

Do you have a brush? If so you will need to add more water to the cream. It takes way more water than other creams to get a decent lather going- remember, this is a "brushless cream." Overall though this is a mediocre product. There is way better stuff out there in the same (regular) price range (free is good). On the flip side, there is far worse out there as well.

Yes, I have two brushes. Does this product lather even though its brushless, 'cause I just rubbed it on my face with my hands. Do you have any recomendations for a brushless cream. Asking for travel purposes.

No, I don't believe it lathers. Actually, Cremo is a good brushless cream. Play around with it for a while and I think you can work the bugs out of it. When you hit the right ratio of water and cream it'll work fine. Molinard Rasoline is my favorite brushless cream to date. I found the performance of brushless creams to be superb as a rule, they're just a little boring to use.

@oscar11 thanks for the tips. I'll try out the Rasoline. Should I add more water in the begining or during the shave?

That's what I'd try seeing how your lather was dry but you can use to much water too. I do not dry my face after washing it and apply the cream(if it's to wet, try a little more cream). Give yourself a chance to figure it out, if you do I think you'll be surprised. During the winter months, when dry skin is a problem, I think these brushless creams will really shine. Good luck.

Use a brush and add more water. Also using more product never hurts for increased lather.

I finally got the courage to try this product again. I used more these last two times and it worked great, very slick and makes my skin feel amazingly soft. I used a Derby extra and Feather
blade in my Merker #33c as these are my favourites. Like I said great shaves and the increase in product still justifies this being an economical choice. Thank for all your input.

When I first bought it it used it without a brush. Wasn't bad, sent a note to the Co. And they recommended that it was also good with a brush. Tried it, yes I found that it was a bit better with the brush.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is that a face lather?

What it seems to do for me is that I lather it like a cream in my bowl and then it continues to increase once applied to my face. So .. It's both. Start with about a large 25cent piece amount in the bowl. It may also depend on your water as to how much you need.
