I know that this properly goes in "The Haul" and it will go there, but it's going here too! I have to say, pictures do not do it justice. You have to see it in person. It's gorgeous!
Another shave with JJ#1. This time Catie's Bubbles "Barnegat Bay". It's in a small mouth container, so JJ#1 is perfect to get the soap out. Lovin' this brush!!
Last shave of the week. Broke out the Route 66 "Rum Runner". JJ#1 lathered it up great. I only do 2.5 passes but I had enough lather for at least 2 people to shave.
Good work. Reminds me that I still have my old USS WASP nametag badge (about 1" high). Been sitting in the fire safe for 25 years, maybe I can do something with it.
As always it is a pleasure to some of your handiwork Jim. And a nice collection of brushes Retleo - congratz! If it is not too much to ask, could You tell a bit about what happened to Your Dad on the day of the attack?
They had already been at Battle Stations for a while. The CVL's job was two-fold, provide Combat Air Patrol for the Task Group and have spare aircraft available for the big CV's. When the ship was struck, my Dad was at his Battle Station as a loader on a quad 40mm mount port side forward. Damage Control had the fire under control after about two and a half hours. The ship ultimately had to return to the States to be repaired and updated.
