Curious, but how close to the mirror do you get when you shave? Do you have a set distance, or vary it up? I normally stand about a foot or so away (the depth of the sink or so), but tonight I decided to get right up in it for some detailing work around the lip. I got a better view of what I need to slice off.
If I get too close I need my reading glasses or bifocals. I need to stay at a distance where I can focus.
I normally just maintain the depth of the sink and counter while shaving, but I do sometimes lean in for a closer look after my second pass to get a closer look if I have any remaining stubble.
I have one of these mounted next to my vanity mirror. I use it when I'm shaving with a straight razor to keep a close eye on what I'm doing. When I use a DE, I use the vanity mirror and slightly lean in to about a foot or so.
I suppose I am about an arm's length from the mirror. It is just a guide for me. I am thinking that I could shave without a mirror if I needed to.
I'm pretty blind without glasses, so I get pretty up close and personal. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
I agree with the length of the sink and counter. I only lean in to show the camera the shave when making a video.
Kitchen sink set on an interior wall with a mirror where a window should be. I don't lean in so about two feet away.
I agree with @Sara-s. When shaving your armpits it doesn't help, and in the shower, you can't wear your glasses anyway.
