    Hey Guys,

I'm new to the wet shave stuff, was just at the art of shaving and was completely blown away with the concept of the double edge razor, it just a bit pricy upfront. My question however is does anyone know how to make the sandalwood shave soap or where to get one with the same scent and a more reasonable price?

    Thanks!

Thanks BarberSurgeon! Just checked out the shop, are you referring to the soap stick? I was more interested in the solid soap that comes in the wooden bowl at art of shaving.

    First, welcome.
As far as sandlewood scents, I have about 6 or 7 different brands, to include AoS, not a single one of them smells like any of the others.

JoAnna sells pucks too. If your ordering, get a vial of M-Bomb and one of the London type smaller pucks too. You won't be disappointed.

Colonel Conk might have a sandalwood heavy variety as well.

Yes, AoS is short for Art of Shaving.

Wooden bowls are just containers. It costs less to buy refill pucks and install them in a bowl you purchased at Goodwill or a thrift store. Unless you like the soap & bowl at AoS. Then you gotta pay the Piper.

JR Reyes I scream for....chicken wings??

The art of salesmen are good at what they do...lol.

There are countless sandalwood shave cream options out there. You can try classics like prorasso red or Taylor of old Bond Street. A lot of artisan soap makers also have some sort of sandalwood offering. Steve is correct in that they might all say Sandalwood on the label, but they will all smell a bit different.

I gifted my brother the AoS cream and post shave balm...I don't even think he has opened it...lol

I like Prorasso's take on sandalwood.

I have only tried the AOS vintage tallow Sandalwood, which is a wonderful soap made by Valbora that makes a nice lather, the scent is a bit earthy, and the closest soap I could compare it to would be Prorasso Sandalwood, although Prorasso is a bit more earthy.
