True, but I would at least like to keep the the statistical probability on my side. I am far more likely to come out further ahead by saving my funds than spending it on a game of chance.

You'd be amazed what you can have delivered to an LV hotel suite.

Absolutely no interest in the lottery, gambling, etc. None at all. The few times I've done any of this felt like I was pitching money in the toilet.

Tremendous interest in Turtle Cheesecake, though. :happy088:

In Kentucky, you're gambling every time you leave the house, my brother. ;)

I venture out occasionally for Turtle Cheesecake. I think of it as risk-based decision making. :D

In my heart, I can not in good conscience play the lottery or gamble. For reasons that are part of my beliefs. Quite simply I believe it's wrong. That said, each person follow standards they believe are right. I follow another mans standards.

I’m a terrible poker player, I loose money much slower at the black jack table. In craps you get the edge lower than blackjack but the variance is huge. In the end I measure it as my cost per hour of entertainment.

I play the lottery, maybe 3 times a year. Never had any luck with it.
Now, Vegas is another story. I went once, to get married, and spent 5 days, in the late 80. I stayed at the Flamingo, when Vegas was for adults still.
When I left, I had $2500 more than i had when I arrived there. That was after all bills were paid. At the time, i had a very good memory, and played Blackjack only at tables that dealt 3 decks. I hated every minute there, except the buffets. I don't like gambling. Oh, the marriage lasted a little over 1 year.

I buy lottery tickets, generally when it's over 100 million, but rarely spend more than $50 in a year - if that. I consider it entertainment - up to four days thinking about what I could do with X amount of money. Cheaper than a movie, lasts longer. That tiny chance is what makes it fun.

I agree. When I go to the local quick stop stores such as 7-11, the majority of folks purchasing the lottery tickets are the ones that should be spending their money on other things such as clothes, food, etc. Is it none of my business how they spend their money? Certainly. But these folks don't realize the odds of not winning and are trying to hit the "big one". It gets complicated when you bring in the whole socioeconomic part of the equation.
