Ok, I've been pumping my brush and lather in my bowl(sounds nasty :)) for the last few days. I've been using my Arko which, I will say, lathers easily for me. The pumping(which I only did a few times), while making my lather, did work. It seemed to give my lather a bit more volume. So from now on, when I think about it, I'll give my brush a few pumps, while it did work, it didn't add enough to the shave to worry about or practice it religiously.:)

I face lather and my soaked brush is well shaken out before loading, giving me a fairly dry soap on my face before building my lather. after reading this post I didn't notice if i pumped while building lather, but I guess I do, especially with the swirling strokes

I have not knowingly pumped my brush, but can assure you that I will tomorrow.
