I was wondering how many of us use MDC on a regular basis. I look through the SOS thread and there seem to be quite a few of us.
I have both scents and try to use one of them at least once a week. Starting next week I'm planning on using my MdC brain bowl (lavender) daily for the entire week.
Considering your vast array of soaps, Steve, you ought to at least give it a try. Yes, it is no small investment—but on the plus side, if for some reason you didn't care for it (some say it leaves the face too dry post-shave), I've seen 'used' MdC jars go for near-full retail on the used market. You can get unscented, the 'regular' scent (rosemary, lavender, mint), or the fourgére (similar to the regular, grassier). One of the best shave soaps I've ever come across.
My acquisitions have dropped considerably for a couple of reasons, the major one being my year of unemployment. Back to full time now, praise the Lord, but at quite the fraction of pay. No worries, though. I am much more enjoying this job and God continues to bless with His provision. The second reason is there is simply near zero shaving items in antique stores 'round here. I've shifted my hobby from collecting razors and such to collecting pocket knives. As you can tell, I'm still hanging out here!
I find the two scents very similar—and often have to take a peek at the label (tan vs green) to remind myself which MdC I grabbed. The fougére is somewhat stronger to my nose (clean, earthy, slightly citrus) whereas the 'regular' is more herbal (rosemary, lavender...). I enjoy both fragrances.
I have the MDC Original Scent as well as The Brain Bowl which is Fougere. One of my best lathering soaps.
Regular (daily) use of MdC? Here I am! Being used daily for two weeks, great soap and great scent, even if I prefer it on Winter.
I have them both and love them. I probably use them twice a month only because I have so many others that I like. If someone were to say to me that you can only have one soap, it would be MDC Lavender
All three flavors all the time. Simply the best. With unopened backups in case of global cataclysm...
