Does type of mug/bowl/cup determine amount of lather?

    I have the VDH mug like that too. My only problem is keeping it warm long enough.

    I have a vdh mug like that, but I originally had the VDH soap puck in it. I took it out yesterday and it works pretty well, but the salsa bowl gives you more room to whip.

    If your puck is in your mug, you cant keep it hot or you'll melt your puck.
    You could set your mug in a sink of hot water but like I said VDH melts in warm water, forget about hot. If your puck is in your mug and you want nice, hot lather, this is what I do, I dont see why it wouldnt work for you;
    1 soak brush in a different mug/bowl of hot water while you shower.

    2 gently give your brush a light shake, leave good and wet, lather.

    3 put soapy brush BACK IN HOT WATER BOWL/MUG dont swish or swirl, just set it in hot water.

    4 shave.

    5 remove sloppy soapy&wet brush from water, shake gently and reswirl hot brush on puck.
    Do this for every pass and your lather will be nice and hot.
    If you want to bowl lather, look up a thdead where I made an awesome scuttle for less than $5.00 in "pairings"

    That's great! That's the same route I took, salsa to a scuttle and somewhere in between I added a apothecary mug.

    I have never had a problem with lather.I use a deep bowl I can palm.I have a few,but my favorite is one is a pottery one my wife got in Equador on a missionary trip.It is quite beautiful and light and thin which is hard to achieve with pottery.I hope I never break it,but she does have another one.I`ll try to post a pic later.
