Ever-Ready 1 Brush Restore

As far as restore projects go, this one was relatively easy. Well, except for the knot, this one was a bit of a pain to remove. Brush as I received it....


Knot removed and wood handle sanded to remove old finish, what there was of it anyway....


Handle with a few coats of acrylic lacquer, ferrule lightly sanded with a very fine sanding sponge, lettering cleaned up and ferrule polished with Flitz....

Lettering on ferrule done with yellow paint, kinda hard to tell because of glare. And I chose yellow because I like to be different, and it looks better. Installed a 19mm boar knot, slightly larger than the 18mm that was originally on it....

Now that is one handsome looking brush. Ready for at least another 50 to 75 years of service.

 

Thank you, I'm getting to like these barber shop type brushes. I have one more, but debating on what type of knot to use.
