That lettering is actually original. That handle was in very good shape, almost seemed NOS.

The Everready C40. Also made by ASR (American Safety Razor Co.). ASR was formed by the combination of Gem and Everready, and is now more well known as Personna. Those brushes were also sold with the Burma Shave mug, brush, and soap holiday combos. I can't say if the old spice brushes were also made by ASR, but some were made in China, Israel, England, and the U.S.A. not much to differentiate between them.

That looks very nice. Good work.

I have that same brush with the original knot. It was one of my first brushes- I bought it new, years ago.
I use it occasionally now, mostly because I have other brushes with better knots.

Your work is tempting me to try to replace the knot in my brush. Something I have not done yet.

    Thanks for sharing!

No. I wish I did. I got it in 1964 as a Christmas gift from my parents. I had been using my father's stuff and wanted a setup of my own. It was drug store stuff and was used up. Both the mug and brush were later replaced.
