Sir, that sounds like a challenge... I'll see your super speed with a feather and raise you a face lather with my new La Toja shave stick (thanks santa) and a follow-up with some kind of old school Lime flavored, alcohol based AS I have stashed in the back of my cabinet... just for challenges such as these. Sounds like a classic shave combo... or at least as classic as I can go for the moment. They just feel so tiny in my hands... but I'll take your super speed challenge, Rick. edit: OK... not a bad shave at all. I will put the red tip in my rotation and use it with nothing but feather blades. My face actually feels good. You win this round, Rick. But we shall meet again.
I think a new thread should be started. Favourite razors that have actually cut whiskers. That should thin things out considerably.D
My three favorite shavers are a 1959 Gillette fatboy, a Merkur progress and a Merkur heavy duty. I love all three, but the heavy duty has been my "go to" razor for quite a few months now. Of course which ever razor I use, my blade of choice is the ninja assassin sharp feather.
This one was in sad shape. Brass is showing through on the handle and the cap had almost no plating left and was badly scratched up. I did a lot of work on the cap starting with 220 and working up to the micro-mesh pads.
Let it be known, that I shave with all of the ones in my list. Here are the only razors I own that I have not shaved with: And I have an identical one of each razor that is not NOS, and I do shave with those.
