I like my Canadian triangle slot techs, but I can get a decent shave out of any of them. No real 'favourites'.

Huge fan of the Pre-War Tech. At this point, the only real variance comes from the handle.
    Light or Heavy
    Long or Short
    Thick or Thin

I do favor a heavy, nickel plated Pre-War Tech. I also hold the razor close to the head, so length is the least important factor.

When I do not have the tech I love, I love the tech I'm with.

I only have one Tech. It’s a C code ball end Tech and gives fantastic shaves. It’s my favorite.

I have a handful of techs here and I think my favorite is the USA made Triangle slot version but that is probably more due to sentimental reasons (a gift from my father shortly before he passed).

I don't notice much difference between the variants. They all benefit from a heavier handle.

Well, her is the current family Tech photo ...

There is an English (mid to late 40's), a pre war 1932 Canadian fat handle, a pre war 1932 Canadian 4 piece, a post war 1932 Canadian fat handle and a unmarked FrankenTech with a Durham Duplex handle.

By the way I really like Techs!

    My own English Flat-Bottom:

I got it surprisingly cheap on eBay as it was billed as Star razor; It actually came in a Bakelite Star case with a wrapped pack of Gillette Blue Blades. Was there some kind of wartime agreement between Gillette and ASR that might have legitimately produced such a combo? (My English Flat Bottom New also came in a Star case.) The handle appears to be a somewhat unusual version as I've only seen pictures of one other with that particular knurling and rings.

    As for my other Techs:
    • 2x US Pre-War (both Nickel)
    • US Contract Tech with 'S' baseplate
    • US Bakelite Tech
    • 3x Post-War NDC Techs (2 Gold, 1 Nickel)
    • English Post-War Aluminium Tech
    • L4 US Tech
    • Chinese Gillette Super Blue Blade razor (a.k.a., Sterling Tech)
So far, I don't have any Canadian ones.

My favorite is probably the English Flat-Bottom, if only for its relative uniqueness. The only one I genuinely don't like is the English Aluminium one; there is a definite difference in head geometry which I can't (or don't have the patience to) get the hang of.

I have three 1932 Canadian Tech; mainly due to the model number (1932) reminds me of my fathers birth. I really enjoy the pre war Canadians, but funny thing is that I haven't tried my English Tech yet and I've own about nine months.

I imagine that it has been. One thing that frustrates me is wondering what sort of case the four-piece Techs came with. Mr. Razor's site only shows one or two examples.

That's true, but the 1920's four piece vest pocket came in a tin. That said, it's a OC not a Tech.

Hi all, what is my favorite Tech? I can't decide......

Although, I think the Canadian Military Tech set comes pretty close to being my favorite. But I really do enjoy them all.
