I am in the market for a few shave towels. I noticed the ones on Amazon are specified as barber towels so it got me thinking. . . Does anyone have a favorite towel? and if so, Why?
I've found some at good prices from the Tuesday Morning store. Labeled as a bar towel, it has closed loops to avoid catching on things or snagging. They are cotton material about 16" x 20". The black and white stripe is made in China & thinner than the beige / white/ blue stripe that's from Pakistan.
What a great idea! I always need more shop towels. I buy them by the truck load for my car's. I probably take better care of my car than I do my face now that I think about it lol.
I use a standard facecloth/flannel and dry off with a normal towel. Are you guys doing something different? A dish cloth seems a bit excessive somehow. I'd be interested to know why you prefer these.
It may not be what's requested, but I use some pretty standard 20x20 (or is it 30x30, can't remember, but pretty standard) wash cloths. I also have an expensive DR Harris cloth, but truth be told it's not a single dime better.
I just use the bath towel I used to dry off from my shower. Makes sense to me since I shave right after my shower.
I like to wash them with bleach regularly. There's something even more satisfying about a shave when I dry my face with one of these. I just like them. I have them all over the house for many different uses. Heck, I have a half dozen in my truck for whatever.
I just bought a dozen bar towels from Sam's club. I wipe off the counter and sink when I'm done and don't want to do that with my bath towel, which I hang up and use for several days.
I like the rectangular shape. One end gets wet to apply water during preshave preparations. The middle and other end I use to keep my hands dry, & to mop up my face/ counter/ floor after I rinse off. I'm a messy shaver.
I had a friend in hotel supply get me two dozen of the thickest towels they sold. I am set for a while.
Several nice and soft dish towels that I swiped from the wife. I like them because they are really broken in.
