    Hey !

I am wondering if anyone has tried one of these razors made by Feather? How does it compare to the Autostrop? I have been trying to find info on this razor, but it is like finding a needle in a haystack!

    Thanks!

Those razors are not spotted very often. I understand that they are very similar to the autostrop. Thankfully, these razors exist. If they didn't we wouldn't have a source for new SE blades to fit the autostrops that have the letter cut out tabs.

:think002 I knew they existed, and were the reason for the Feather S/E blades, but I think that is the first time I've seen one.

    Very nice! :)

I've never seen one of these before. If that's a solid guard bar, that might make it similar to the last model of the Auto-Strop; the earlier ones were open comb.

More pictures would be interesting, if convenient for you. If you shave with it, let us know how it goes.

The feather blades will they fit in into an autostrop? If so where can when purchase those blades. I have two beautiful autostrops.

The Feather blades will fit the Auto-Strops, and can be bought from Razor Blades and More, that's where I got mine. They are good blades, but have very annoying glue spots on them.

I'm going to add to this post by suggesting that you don't actually strop the Feather blades on the Auto-Strop strop. I ruined a couple this way.

If you have the kind of Auto-Strop that doesn't need the cutouts in the middle of the blade, then you can modify ordinary SE blades to work in them by removing the spine and clipping out a little extra from the cutouts on the sides. There are a couple of videos on YouTube that show how to do this. They were made by a member who hasn't been heard from in a while. Hope he's okay.

I picked my first box from Razor Blades and More also. I used them and loved them so I got 2 cases ordered in from Japan. Here is a link to the thread I created about the similarities between a Feather and valet blade [CLICK]. Rodd also has a link to his thead on this topic too.
