And it was successful! Not quite BBS, but I'm sure with plenty of practice I will become much better. Merkur 23C razor (w/unknown blade) Vulfix pure badger brush (unknown model) Neutrogena shave cream (hand-applied, no brush) +/- Weak-foaming hand soap made from camel's milk (souvenir from UAE) Thayer's witch hazel astringent The razor, blades, brush, and Neutrogena cream were part of a starter kit purchased from denshaver in TSD's classifieds. My order of Arko soap is on the way, but I figured I'd try the camel milk soap just in case it worked like a charm. It did not. Thankfully, the Neutrogena cream did just fine for a mop-up job. Looking forward to getting the Arko on Saturday and really whipping up a nice lather to get the full experience.
Glad to hear it was successful. Remember, though, chasing a BBS is like chasing love - you will only get hurt.
Thanks, everyone! My goal is to work my way up to a straight razor. I'll work on the DE method for a while and see where it takes me.
Who knows where it will lead you? My own journey led directly to the use of straights....*Click to View*
