Recently I was the lucky winner of a PIF mystic water lime shave soap. (Thank you Primotenore!) I have never used this kind of soap before, but always willing to try new things! PIF started Tuesday. Winner announced Friday. Package arrived Wednesday. This is the package as it arrived to me in a very short time. I understand the costs involved with hosting a PIF and it is appreciated! The soap was accompanied by a cool business card. This is my set-up ready for the first shave this morning. 40's style super speed W2 with a Derby Extra blade, wood handled brush, and the lime soap. I have the soap "blooming" to soften it up a bit. (thank you for the instructional video) Brush, razor and mug in hot water for a warm morning shave. Brush handles should not be immersed, but this is how I do it. Pouring the bloom water into the mug. Loading up the brush. Brush loaded and ready to lather. After much swirling, pumping, and rewetting, I got soft meringue-like lather. It continued to build lather as I applied it to my face. The lime scent was very mild. I did 2 passes, one with and one against the grain. The razor glided easily and effortless. It was slick without being too oily or greasy. My skin was very soft when finished. All done but the clean-up! This process took slightly longer than using my usual TOBS shave cream. Due to the bloom process and a bit more effort to build sufficient lather. However, one of the reasons we here at the Den do what we do, is the time and effort it takes to do it! Thank you again Primotenore and all here at TSD for making this possible!
Nice presentation! Sounds like you will really enjoy Mystic Waters soap. I tried the grapefruit scented one and found it very good as well. Enjoy!
