Not a (single) movie per se, but I love all of Mystery Science Theater 3000. But keeping with the specific theme -- "It was Abby somebody. Abby Normal. I'm almost certain that was the name..." To be fair, Young Frankenstein is a 105 minute long funny scene.
From The Great Escape when Steve McQueen yanks off the wooden supports of his room-mates bunk to assist in the escape preparation, then his roomie comes in and climbs to his bunk and says "Tally Ho" and finds that he has no bed to lie back on. Poor guy falls through both bunks.
Tom Hanks in The Money Pit, the scene where he gets caught in the rug comes to mind. Chevy Chase in Funny Farm, many good scenes there. Tony Shalhoub in Galaxy Quest, several more good scenes, but alien sex scene and rock monster pop to mind. The Funniest scenes are often in "non -comedy" films. The Casino bust scene in Casablanca “I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on here!” (The croupier hands him his money.) “…Your winnings, sir.” “Oh, thank you very much!” (Also I don't remember the specific scene, but there was one in Bringing Out the Dead that I was laughing so hard I had to stop the movie. I think you have to be in health care to really appreciate that one.)
One of the funniest movies most people have never heard of! I saw Harland on stage at a local Comedy Improv a few years back. Quirky as hell but funny
Peter Boyles look when Hackman smashes his cup..... OMG that makes me die every time I see it. Good one Kevin.
I laughed when I first saw Martin in Father Of The Bride as he got into his 15-yr. old tux and says "Heyyyyyy, lookin good mah man....What's New Pussycat, whoo-oho-hoooooh?"
My hands down all time favorite comedy bit, ever. Not from the movies, though...the redid it in one of them and it just wasn't done right.
Where the tub falls through the floor is good too. "Let's get out of here before those things kill Guy!"
