When @Jayaruh was asking who wanted a handle, I asked him to send me one that was unfinished. So he sent me his prototype handle, as I had a couple of ideas for it. I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do, but this is how it went. First pic of handle as sent to me......

Second pic with grooves filled in with modeling putty and sanded smooth......

Third pic of handle sprayed with primer......

Next pic painted with a mix of purple, navy blue and black, something different......

Final pic with two stripes from mixing purple and navy blue. I also made a decal made from a clear decal sheet so the stainless steel ferrule will show through a bit. Added a few clear coats and hoping I don't get the ferrule scratched up so the clear coat will last. Will most likely have to find a case for it, hopefully one with a good outside finish. Won't care about the inside, as I will have to re-do it to fit this razor anyway......

Thanks, at least for me, a fatter handle is better for control. I did toy around with making the handle a bit hollow and adding BB's with epoxy for added weight. Who knows, might do that later on down the road with something.

Great idea on the ferrule. I have that little purple stamped metal badge from inside a rotted GEM case, something like that would look dandy attached to the razor as well, and I think it'd fit.

I copied an image of an open case on the web and sized it to make the decal.

Wow...great post! Thanks! That razor turned out awesome! That Gem label is the cat's meow! Nice touch.
I also have a 1912...a British made Ever Ready. I'd love the chance to dress it up and personalize it like you've done. Thanks to you and Jayaruh for sharing great and creative ideas! You've definitely got things rolling around in my mind. (Sorry for all the enthusiastic exclamation points...this post just really caught my attention!....oooooops).
