George Butler Restore

    I picked up this George Butler razor some time ago. I went through my usual routine for restoration: steel wool and WD40, 800, 1k, 1.5k, and 2k wet/dry sandpaper, followed by lots of polishing with Mother Mag and Aluminium Polish. I found the sanding part went quickly (easy on the etching), but the polishing seemed to take twice as long as usual. There was a fair bit of deep staining on the blade and I decided not to dig too deep. I will get this on the stones in the next few days and take it for a test ride. Here is the before:
