read som where that to get good skin stretch on wet and slippery skin you can take som alum on your fingers.then the friction would be as if the skin was dry.have tried this on my latest shaves an it works like a dream.much better grip and easy to get a good skin stretch.
I pretty much learned how to use a straight by watching Dov's video. About the 3:23 mark he mentions the alum.
