What a fantastic razor. And the restoration looks perfect, but... That much money paid and it's going to stored in a case and looked at occasionally? Isn't that sort of like courting the worlds most beautiful woman for 5 years, (very expensive) finally marrying her,(even more expensive) and then deciding she is so beautiful that you'll not touch her? I just don't get it... Certainly a fantastic razor though!
The restoration came out "BEAUTIFUL" Glenn!! It will look fantastic in your collection. Your friend does really nice work. That said I'd have to shave with that puppy at least once or twice..
Great find and a beautiful restoration, looks wonderfull. I thint it would be a shame not to use it at least a few times.
I have measured the blade gap on this razor. At its midpoint (setting "3") it is .020". The comparable setting for a Fatboy is .032" so I know it is a mild shaver. Also the head is big so it will be tough to use tight under the nose. So I kind of know how it will shave already.
I don't think that you went far enough. It needs to be under glass too, like Tut's burial mask. I see a pedestal centered in the living room with really tight spots shining from three different angles...
