While the wife and I were out today, we visited a very nice shop called The Garage. It is a mixture of antiques, arts, and crafts. I had found my Gillette Double Ring there. There was a display in there that was run by a lady whose husband was a barber who was also a collector. He died earlier this year, and she was selling his stuff. Evidently she is doing it a bit at a time. Well, I found this NEW DeLuxe Norfolk there today. I was going to be a good boy and pass, but my wife said, "Go ahead and get it. It is not that much." She made my day. This razor was made in 1930. It has a serial number. 1930 was the last year that they put serial numbers on razors. I cleaned it up and buffed it a bit, and now it looks like this:
I love mine, somehow I've become a fan of short handle razors, especially on my s to n pass. I liked it so much, i got the Ikon version. I boys you enjoy yours.
Very nice. I think that is a tuckaway. If I remember correctly, the Norfolks have a shortened bar type handle.
Thank you all. I am already looking forward to OCtober to put this one into play. I love OC razors, and I have a bunch. It should be a sweet OC month.
