Hi, Just picked this up! I think its pretty neat using a razor this old! Anyone have any thoughts on these???
I have one and like it very much. Gives an agressive shave, but not as much as some of the newer OC's like Cadet. Find your angle and the right blade and it will mow your beard down very efficiently....
I found mine in an antique store about 2 1/2 years ago. I loved so much I finally got it plated in bright nickel. It is a fantastic shaver. Love it. Hope you are getting great shaves from yours.
Hi, WOW!!! You just made green with envy with that one!!! That's a wallpaper shot also! Mine is still in the mail but can't wait to try it with one of my Crystals!!!
Mine is a SC as well.. Jim, that razor looks fantastic in nickel. I will be replating mine in gold eventually. My 7 year old asked if it could be his first razor when he is old enough to shave. Specifically, he asked to have my "solid gold razor"
Hi, I think you can get the nickel replate for arounf $50? I guess pride of ownership gets into the mix somewhere in there!!! Hard to beat a 70 year old razor in top beautiful condition!!!
My first vintage Gillette was a new oc. Great razors. I'm not much of a oc guy but ill keep mine since it was my first find in the wild.

I don't have a short comb to compare, but I agree the long comb is a milder shaver compared to my OLD type.
OLD type is very aggressive to me. Of course, I only have one to compare to. Of coarse, blades were thicker in the days of the OLD type.
My favorite tool for mowing off the annual beard. I tried both side by side and the agg difference was barely noticeable (to my face anyway).
Nice Short Comb NEW! I love my SC New and find it a very forgiving, comfortable shave. Most here seem to feel the SC is an aggressive razor, but I like the SC much better than the LC version. Have fun with it!
