Hey Jim! Still got that photo of your Bottom Dial Red Dot Toggle? Drool worthy piece of shave kit. Tapatalk Via Kyocera
If I had one of those in hand there would be decisions to be made. Either shave with it every day, or sell it and go to the dealership for some new car shopping.
In it's current non-adjustable condition, and signs of heavy use, I would be surprised if it sold for less than $200-300. Always someone out there willing to chance a bust to get a toggle.
I saw one go for north of $260 on a non-ebay auction site. It was shiny gold and the case looked well cared for. I did bid twenty bucks so if no one else saw it... Still happy with my $8 Fat Boy.
As did Segal. After introduction of the Aristocrat, Gillette bought an old TTO patent, then a few months later sued Segal for infringement of that old patent despite the fact the Segal had obtained its own patent in '31 (and that old Gillette acquired patent had nothing much to do with either the Aristocrat or Segal design). It took several years but the courts ruled in Segal's favor. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
As interesting as a Toggle may seem. I, too, am completely satisfied with my D3 Adjustable. Now, if I were to stumble upon one for...say $25, I might consider buying it.
I got to play around with one of those in the pass around box, many years ago. It will work with DE blades if you use a hole puncher to widen the hole in the center of the DE blades. NOS proprietary segal blades being few and far between these days, I'm afraid.
It's a nice shaver and one doesn't have to be very precise in trimming a blade for it as long as you straighten it up before tightening the cap. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I didn't see any plate loss or corrosion. It was shiny and many times better than the one above on bidding.
Sure they did, three clicks, have seen them, I believe Jorvaljr has one'. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
