Some of you may have followed the earlier discussion on identifying a Gillette Travel Set 1921 Standard Combination Set 00 G that I picked up at an antique store. Here is the before: It is gold plated and so I followed the advice that was provided and only used Dawn soap, a soft toothbrush and a cotton cloth for polishing. And lots and lots of elbow grease and TLC. I also cleaned out the inside of the case with a toothbrush and reconditioned the leather case with neutral polish. Its almost 100 years old. I'd say it looks pretty good for its age! Here is the after:

I think this will be more of a display set...one for the museum. Now I just have to build the museum.
