Gillette W4 Dating assistance

I went to gillettedatecodes.com to look up a new black handled TTO razor I bought recently. The date code is W4 and it seems it could be either a '51 or '76 as they both have the same date code marking I guess the question is, when did they start making the black TTO? It was listed as a '76 but I am starting to doubt that.

 

W-4 4th Qtr 1976 since the black handled Super Speed started into production in 1966.

 

I'd start with maybe some sweet talk and flowers. But, if you really want to seal the deal, you gotta buy her the bling.

 

I own a W-2 razor . What you have there is a 1976 w-4. That is a nice looking Razor.

 

That was my thinking as well.

 

Obviously there's something contagious going on here, and there's no vaccination.

 

Thanks! The 1976 did not list a TTO ot Tech that's why I thought it was earlier.

I think you made a similar comment the first time I asked for help "dating" a razor.
