They are different and that was his only one. He has a British Aristocrat. Not sure if he'd part with it or not.
I'm trying to find a 1947 Super Speed and a Marine Corps Boot Camp issue 1965 Gillette. Would have been a big DOD purchase, heck they could have been from WWII.
Here are some photos of the Ranger and Senator in my collection that Captain Murphy cleaned and did some minor repairs to. They shine bright and operate like new again.
Did it myself. Disassembled the razor then dipped in black "PlastiDip" (used to recoat tool handles, etc.). Dipped handle separately from yellow adjusting knob. It took 5 coats to cover the knob so the sharp edges didn't show through. I love the shave I get from my Progress, but found the polished finish a bit slick with wet hands. The coating helps make holding the wet razor a lot more secure. If you want details of how I did it, PM me. Alternatively, they are posted online in another Forum group on shaving under the title "Merkur Progress: BB Imitation"
Have you dealt with Razorplate before? I have had messages out to Razor Emporium for a while and haven't heard back from them.
