I guess it is easier learning a second language, than it is learning a second, third, eleventh etc etc. And if I remember correctly, you do fall in to the latter category.

French is a beautiful sounding language. And every time I have a similar conversation about it, I just can't help but think about my favourite quote from the Matrix trilogy:

I love French wine, like I love the French language. I have sampled every language, French is my favorite. Fantastic language. Especially to curse with. It's like wiping your arse with silk. I love it.

 

My first language is English. My mom is from Puerto Rico, so Spanish is my second. I know some French, very little Italian, a few words in German, a few words in Arabic.

 

I speak 4 dialects of Arabic perfectly. (without bragging) Egyptian, Lebanese, Classical, and Moroccan. As it is, whoever that doesn't know me swears that I'm an Arab when they see me for the first time because of my facial features and coloring. My German is also much better than my English. My wife speaks perfect Castillian Spanish because of the region of Morocco her parents are from.

 

I hope you don't think I'm bragging, but I am fluent in Hebrew, French, Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian, German, Polish, Yiddish, Greek, and Swahili. My English is a good deal better than before.
