I've started going against the grain and all I can say is wow! Nice close shave and no irritation at all. I started out with an Astra Blue, then went on to try the Derby blade that came with the EJ DE89. I'll never go back to the Derby blade again, I'm now trying out the Persona Red's and I must say it is by far the smoothest blade I've use. I will definitely cycle back to the Astra and try it again but the Derby is out of the picture. Now I need to work on my lather, seems to be a little inadequate and tends to dry up close to the end of my shave.

A good post shave balm will also help to tame a little bit of burn..

I use Niva Aftershave Balm for sensitive skin and it seems to do the job. I have also seen Witch Hazel recommend for the same reason, but have never used it like that so can't comment.

Nothing much to add except take your time and it will get better, faster, closer with time. :)
+1 on using Nivea post shave balm, it's all I use, doesn't cost much and it works like a charm..:)
