So what's your current set up? Do you have a favorite soap or cream/ brush/ bowl or mug/ razor & blade/ post shave product? There's a term you may have heard - Face Mapping. Knowing which way your beard grows helps in determining the direction of your razor pass or passes. Generally a with the grain (WTG) gives the least irritation. A couple across the grain (XTG) passes bring the beard reduction to acceptable levels. It's that against the grain (ATG) that may trim the hair shaft below the skin surface and may cause razor bumps and ingrown hairs. If you are like most of us there are some swirly hair growth patches that may need special care and development of new techniques.
